Approving Tactile Adhesive Test Panels
An adhesive test panel should demonstrate the proposed tactile component and floor combination. It should not be treated as permission to bond every tactile product to every existing surface.

Selection considerations
Identify the component, substrate, previous coating and proposed adhesive. Obtain the written compatibility and preparation requirements from the relevant suppliers. Keep the approved route design separate from the attachment trial; a successful bond does not decide where the component belongs.
Prepare an identifiable panel using the intended method and record its conditions. Agree how the result will be assessed, including any required curing or inspection steps. Do not invent a pull-test load or describe a visual check as certified bond performance.
Retain the accepted procedure and sample references for installation. If the substrate, coating or adhesive changes, assess whether the trial still applies. Document the relevant attachment inspections before public use, while retaining the separate route and product approvals.
Before you specify or order
- Identify the exact material combination
- Obtain preparation instructions
- Record the trial procedure
- Reassess changed substrates

Common question
Does a successful trial on one floor approve another?
Not automatically. Different substrates or coatings may require a new compatibility review.
